My first story has been sent off
I sent off my short story, "The Ancient Bridge", to the L. Ron Hubbard Writer's of the Future competition. (It's just about the only thing of his legacy untainted by Scientology.) My story is straightforward sword story, coming of age - with the help of an old warrior. I should hear within a month, then I'll move on to the magazines.
Wilson was Hugo finalist in 1999, 2002, 2004, and 2006 - gotta catch up on him.

A review of the Randian aspects of Goodkind's fantasy series
The first book was not bad. Seemed like an RPG world. I've maintained that Rule #1 is that "People are Stupid" long before this was written - The Randian Fantasies of Terry Goodkind.
