Syfy. Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg, "Sci Fi is coming off the best year in its history. In primetime it ranked 13th in total viewers among ad-supported cable networks in 2008. It’s a top-10 network in both adults 18 to 49 (up 4%) and adults 25 to 54 (up 6%)." So to capitalize on this growth they are going to "build off of that to build a broader, more open and accessible and relatable and human-friendly brand.” In other words, they are going to turn away from what has made them successful and become like every other channel. Of course, truthfully, most of what the SciFi Channel has done outside of Battlestar Galactica has been pretty mediocre. So I can't really complain if they have new and hopefully better shows and with BSG ending they are going to have to come up with something new quickly.
